Technology – Mechanism of Action
The Polygon Resection device offers the ability to perform polypectomy and targeted biopsy under continuous visualization with any of the hysteroscopes that possess a 3mm operating channel.
The Polygon Resection device is a handheld manually operated device designed for the hysteroscopic removal of intrauterine tissue (most commonly polyps). The device operates by using vacuum to draw the target tissue into the cutting window and resecting it with an inner sharpened tube. The inner tube is activated by squeezing the trigger where a spring is compressed and upon release it pushes the inner tube forward to sever the tissue specimen and close the cutting window.
